At the recent LDC Officials’ Day in London there was a presentation by the Chair of the GDC, Prof. Kevin O’Brien on Direct Access. Direct Access should it go ahead, will allow patients direct access to DCPs, denture technicians, therapists and hygienists without having to see a dentist first!
This is potentially the thin end of the wedge with serious consequences for the profession and seems to have passed most of us by.
